Dr. Veda Brown, a University of Florida-trained developmental psychology researcher and acclaimed children’s author of the 15 book series, Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God, shares the secret to training well-rounded Christian children.

As a well sought-after speaker in the area of children’s development and most significantly, one of America’s top African-American developmental psychologists who specializes in cognitive development, Dr. Brown shares how parents and teachers can plant seeds of strong self-worth, value and confidence in young children’s hearts and minds—based on Biblical principles.

Plus, as a Christian missionary, Dr. Brown reveals practical tools to help children build character, positive self-image and character.

As a graduate of The University of Florida, she is 1 of 18 African Americans holding PhDs in Development Psychology in the country.

Personal Interests
Dr. Veda Brown is passionate about the empowerment of young children. In addition to serving as an elementary school teacher and a university psychology professor, Veda has conducted national training workshops to help parents, early educators, researchers, and community leaders provide the best teaching/learning strategies that facilitate diverse learning styles – especially in the area of self-actualization and early literacy development.

Dr. Brown has done extensive research in cognitive development, youth violence prevention and parenting, and has developed instructional modules and training workshops to help parents, early educators, researchers, and community leaders provide the best teaching/learning strategies that facilitate diverse learning styles.

She has authored and co-authored numerous academic articles, books, book reviews, etc. and has taught thousands of parents the importance of providing effective learning environments that enhance young children’s emotional, cognitive and social development. While serving on national committees and task forces, she examined youth violence and violence against teachers and developed effective intervention strategies.

A lifelong educator, Dr. Brown developed a research-based Creative Critical Thinking Skills Enhancement model for preschool literacy development as well as the Back2Basics middle school level reading and mathematics modules. This work has opened opportunities for her to work in networks among thousands of school superintendents, members of national education organizations, and with community and faith-based organization leaders to help people from all walks of life understand and appreciate their God-endowed unlimited potential to live fulfilling lives.
